Chevrolet crossed flags on fender, Chevrolet air cleaner decals, Chevrolet call outs on rear panel, nope not factory.

I have seen theVintage print out on this car. It was from Conroyd and has all the options from bumperettes to power windows, D55 console, A31, A51, highly optioned car from the breeder of Chettahs. After seeing RPO list and corresponding docs with documentation of sales etc. I am convinced it is authentic. True some things seem odd but the history is rock solid. It was originally green now almost a Canary yellow but great car. If I remember correctly I think it was Reef Turquoise. Looked like unmolested cowl tag, M40 tranny, I am no expert and know little about Chettahs and all the changes made when they were modified from the factory but a GREAT CAR. Do other Chettahs have chevelle style fender flags, this SD has all the usual SD emblems etc. and it even had an in dash tach although it did not show on RPO list. Just my opinion after seeing and talking owner at the Loafers Old Time Drags on Saturday at Mission.
let the discussion continue so I can be educated.

I think the only thing being discussed regarding the authenticity is the claim it came off the line with a 427. You have seen the GM Vintage report. What engine does the report say the car was it built with?

Certainly it could be a dealer installed 427 and for that matter the dealer could have easily added a factory tach as well.

The Conroy Cheetahs that got 427's installed would have been 396 cars to start with. They added the badges and other options that GM didn't.
They wanted a unique car, and there was quite a car scene in North and West Vancouver at that time. Mander Chevrolet was down Marine drive in North Van, and lots of Modified cars came out of there.
Mander became Dick Irwin Chev Olds and I worked for them.

This might have been a Mander that came from Conroy for the 427 install.  The owner had a story that the dealer, Mander?, bought up a bunch of 427 vette motors that were then installed and it would make sense and explain why it is not a, "Chettah".   The story seemed solid and I cannot remember what the doc"s said the original motor was but it did have the original motor numbers etc. on the vintage print out.  The owner had it all looking original but admitted he had a Petronis ignition  kit installed.  It all makes sense to me if it was originally sold by Conroy and then taken down the street to Mander for the engine upgrade therefore could not technically a Cheetah.

In 1967, at GM, with connections, I'm not going to rule it out. Doubtful, yes. Faked? Hundreds of times. Possible? Back then you'd talk to the Zone Rep. Never say Never back then. It doesn't mean they'd do anything, but it does mean they might consider.

Remember the 1968 Yenko Camaros? There has been a documented factory install of a 427 on a hush hush basis that Yenko claimed they swapped in (mum's the deal, remember liability) before the COPO pipeline started pumping.

In Canada they called COPO the Canadian Special Listing (CSL) until about '68. I'm thinking of one alleged 1967 Beaumont post with a 396.

It is so nice to be able contact VVS. It would be tough to verify without VVS documents, as the Canadian cars still didn't get vins stamped on the engine before 1968.
