Some tips for using the Canadian Tire Triangle Rewards card

I think most of us who shop at Canadian Tire have the Triangle card. Normally I'd just scan it at checkout and get a few cents worth of points. Well a friend of mine started telling me how he's been getting huge points by using the Triangle phone app which you link to your card. Here's what he taught me.

I needed a couple pairs of jeans and like the Denver Hayes ones at Marks (which also takes the Triangle card). I checked for offers on the phone ap and there was one for $20 in points when you spend $90 and another for something like 10X points when you buy jeans. So I loaded them up and bought two pairs of jeans. At checkout I got $31 in points!

Next I went to Canadian tire as we needed batteries, a refill canister for our Soda Stream Machine and some mason jars. I checked "my offers" on the ap for any deals related to what I was buying. There was one for something like 5x points when you spend over $30. There's a feature where you can "swap offers". These are offers other Triangle users get but have decided to swap out for offers they would rather use. I checked and sure enough there were offers for the items I needed (5x points for batteries, 10X for soda stream and accessories etc).  I swapped those offers for offers I had that I know I'd never use (eg: 10x point for hockey stick purchase). At checkout I used my $31 in points that I got from Marks towards the purchase and then got another $9 back in points for those items! My friend says he's had over $100 in points just from one purchase by combining offers. Pretty good deal!

Yup. That app is awesome. One of the few apps I actually use. You can get huge points back and you also get alerted on some days when you spend over $45 get $5 back in points. It ads up extremely quickly. Im hoping to accumulate enough to get a Lincoln Welder.

There was a promo a few months back and i got $150 when i signed up for the card. There was some other promos one being 15 cents liter for gas so i filled up my vehicles and jerry cans of fuel for my backhoe. In notime i had $203 can tire money to buy the battery i needed. Then a few days before i went to buy battery the flyer said for every $100 you spend OF YOUR CANTIRE money certain day you get $20 cantire money back so i got $40 when i bought the battery. I find i have to check often as they dont last for too many days.
