Goes against everything I stand for in a car. I'm not an LS fan, I'm not a front wheel drive fan, it only has 2 pedals and it's not a Pontiac.
However, it IS a V8, it IS something my wife can get in and out of much better than our former G8 GT and 97 Trans AM, and best of all the price on it was great.
So, we now drive a fully loaded 303 horse LS4 2008 Impala SS with 161,000 km's on it, bought from the original owner.
On the plus side, it sounds great and we both love sunroofs!
That's great Carl, similar car to the Buick Super you checked out for me a few years back.
I was reading an article this week of the top ten fastest Chevrolets ever made and in a list of predominantly Corvettes and a few Camaros the Impala SS 303 HP LS V8 came in in tenth spot at a top speed of 154 MPH.
So you got a hot rod and a more comfortable car, Win ! Win !

That Buick test drive so many years ago has stuck in my head. I've kind of poked around for a Buick and would have preferred it over the Chevy but they are so hard to find. A somewhat local guy who I know had one but it wasn't in very good shape so I didn't pursue it when he put it up for sale.
This is still about 60 horsepower less than our G8 was and it's sure not as nimble feeling but one of the most important things is ease of entry and exit for my wife. This one is far superior to the G8 for that.

A 3 pedal conversion on a fwd would be a challenge? Does it have good traction control? Some fwds are difficult to control, that much hp is a lot for fwd. What automatic?

Yeah, that could be next to an impossible conversion. It has traction control but I've never even mashed the accelerator all the way to the carpet, never mind try it with and without the traction control engaged.
It's a 4T65E trans.
