RE: Power windows installation and related issues (1965 Parisienne)

It's definately a solution, although maybe not the best. It is a bit of a risky move and one time the spring broke off. Probably a good thing that it didn't happen when installed.

Ok, I got the correct parts finally. I hope... :)

Measurements seem correct to the ones stated above.

Will start installing as soon as those correct rubber conduits arrive.

If you need pictures showing the mounting locations for the 4 bolts in each one, let me know.

Sweet, thanks. So on the door I can see that top rear bolt is shifted a bit, is that the new hole that needs to be drilled you mentioned before?

Funny you mention that, I never noticed that until I posted the picture and looked at it.

This is a factory power window car, not one that I converted so I'm not really sure.

I'll go pull that bolt and see if I can see signs of manual drilling.

There's no doubt that is 100% from the factory that way. It's perfectly oval shaped hole that has been stamped, not drilled.

I have no idea why they would do that because with the other 3 being round, it's not like you can move the regulator body around that much. Weird!

Thanks to advice of the experts I figured that the plates were the holes for harness should be on 65 are able to be knocked out, will test that once I get correct conduit boots.

Did you find the conduit boots or are you still needing a pair?

Send me a private message please if you need a pair. I can likely help you.

Speaking of boots, I thought I'd post a before/after shot of the 69's I have.

Originally, as expected they were really dirty, but they were also pretty hard and inflexible. I soaked them in a pail of Castrol super Clean and water (50/50) for a week. Took them out and scrubbed them with dish soap.

They came up pretty good, still need a little more scrubbing, but the thing is they are now soft and supple like they were actually new! I'd heard about super clean being able to soften rubber, but had never tried it. It does work.
