1969 Camaro SS- had a 427

Resized_20241030_124345_1730753949213.jpeg

Friend just bought this, its a California car, in dry storage for 15 years locally, I havent seen it yet. He has an M22 for it, looking for an engine. I think hell go bb, he had a 350 for it but that ended up unusable. Cool car with a 427.

I have a very early (early August 1969) 454 that is a prime candidate to go into a 69 Camaro, it came out of that white 70 2+2 I posted photo's of a couple weeks ago. As there were problems with the 1970 Camaro's & Firebirds, the 1969 models were built for a year and a half. It'd be interesting to see the build date on your friends Camaro.

I'd like to see the vin and I'll tell you if it indeed has a 427 in it. Could've been an L78/L89 with an M22. If it came with a 427 I will find out for sure.

I didnt get the vin, but I got a trim tag. Its a January 1969 van nuys car, it had been getting set up as a yenko clone by someone, car was purchased in Maine about 2008, but was not a finished car. It did have a 427 in it and the fellow who brought it to N.S. wanted the 427 and sold it out of the car. Its trim tag says Olympic Gold with standard black interior. The car was painted from the doors forward, but never on the road, rear paint and roof are original paint it appears. It has the bb heater, but that appears to not be original so this is likely a small block car originally. The car may have been an RS, at the sides of the bumper/grill, there are brackets/fittings for the hideaway headlights.

I think hell do Clints 454 as a 427 clone and he has a rebuilt M22 for it. He wants a solid driver, not a drag car so hell likely change out the 4.56 rear end to some more highway friendly. The Calgary bb has arrived but I havent seen it, Im visiting my daughter in Vancouver.

The engine stands are different for a bb? Added when the 427 was installed? My guess.
