Our neighbour's Cruze needs some brake work. I looked up pads, rotors and calipers on Rock Auto. $456.55 sitting at my front door which includes $89.25 shipping.
I also am looking at a pair of mufflers for myself. If I order just the mufflers, $122.13, sitting at my door which includes $46.01 shipping.
If I order the brake parts AND the mufflers in one order, it all comes from the same warehouse but shipping is not $89.25 + $46.01 (total of $135.26) but rather total shipping is $157.58. So if I do 2 separate orders for identical parts coming from the identical warehouse it's $22.32 less for shipping than if I put it all in one order. More work picking 2 orders, more work packing 2 orders, more work shipping 2 orders. I don't get it.

Shipping it as one order would push it over a weight limit making it cost more. Like a pair of cylinder heads if you put them in one box, the cost would be unbelievable. Shipping them separately cut the cost quite a bit.

That was the only thing I could figure but it seems weird. Never had that with Rock Auto before.
