FRAME RUST ON XFRAME CARS 1964

hi , i have a 64 Custom Sport . i bid on and won an auction  1961 Chevy Biscayne 4dr , 235 PG parts car . rusty but complete , i think the windshield is good , due to a recent snow/ice event i can't retrieve it yet . lots of parts will fit my 64 . what i want to know is the frame worth anything ? i am near Winnipeg in Ontario , Kenora . usually the frames are pretty solid around here . what area do i look for rust on these frames . if it's rusty i'll strip some parts and take the rest of the car to the scrap yard . scrap is only at $160/ton  , hardly pay for my gas . ( car was about $65 total cost , estate auction )

what parts are worth saving ? i see w/s wiper motors are expensive new ? rear axle ? switches ? radiator ,

i will probably keep the standard steering parts to use to safety check my 64. until i get a power steering box .  my son is in Ottawa so i may be able to transport parts that direction .

also what is a solid 67 Parisienne frame worth ? there ia a  parts car 2dr hdtp 283 available $300 in Manitoba ,

thanks

jim ( not always online )

A 1961 frame can be adapted to fit 1959-1964 x-frame cars. They tend to rust above and immediately behind the rear axle. The rear rails and rear cross brace in front of the back bumper can also suffer from rust problems. In some cases, the frame can also be quite rusty where the steering box is mounted. If the frame is still solid, there is a market for it.
The front and rear bumpers are worth saving if the chrome is not all rusted. The upper and main grill is worth grabbing if they are still in decent shape. Your biggest dollar items will be the hood and front fenders if they are not rusted too badly.
There is an active market for decent front and rear valance pans that fit below the bumpers.
Used dash components also have a market. Does it have dog dish hub caps? These can be worth several hundred dollars if in decent shape.
Hope this helps.

Post pics of the whole car when you get it home. Not sure if that back glass with the overhang is unique, front fenders not rusted out above the headlights are rare for a 61, many 62s had posi in the cheap 4 door prairie cars, etc.
