Yes Canuck3D is why i am gearing up for this build.  fantastic products and details

Still unsure if the rear end of a 69 SD should have the metal trim panels between the backup lights,  im thinking NO, because the "deluxe" never came equiped.

also what does the proper aircleaner look like?  is it a snokel frying pan or just an open element??

Yes the SD does use the metal trim between the backup lights. The colour is keyed to the stripe colour, either black or white.

Air cleaners basically are:

For L35: Closed element single snorkel on the base 325-horse L35. With automatic transmissions the snorkel will have a Thermac valve & ducting to the exhaust heat shield as shown below. Manual transmission versions used no Thermac, instead they had a full Air Injection Reactor system (smog pump). Notice how the snorkel deflects down and towards the right front corner of the car. That is only for 1969 L35 Chevelles & Beaumonts. The lid is not chrome on the L35 for 1969. The valve covers were though.

For L34: Open element 14" unsilenced air cleaner with chrome lid; A.I.R. pump used automatic or manual trans.

Thanks Cam,  you are correct!  i just did some digging in the parts books.  Looks like rear trim panel was present and painted black or white like you say.  and the SD emblem on the RH side.  same pieces as the custom, but the RH had the emblem so they list them under different part numbers, and because of the painted out section

I think im going to do my model as a 325 HP with a TH400, just to be different,  so i need to use the regular aircleaner with a snokel and the heat stove off the exh manifold up to the Thermac valve,  this will be a cool looking addition.  Plus i dont want to have to scratch build all the A.I.R. stuff.

Right now i am leaning towards a 2dr post,  black exterior, w/ green interior,  white SD stripes, full stock wheel covers, and maybe white stripe tires, because it wouldnt look good with redlines(against a green interior), and i really hate white letter tires(that just me, what can i say!).  So its getting a special order of white walls!

How about doing the twin skinny whitewalls? Those look so cool.

Yes, but they were only for 78-series tires circa 1970/71 (and 1969 Caprice / Grande Parisienne).

I look forward to your build!

By the way, if you plan to include the same wheel covers that are in the brochure pic above, Fireball Model Works does them.

Good lead! Those wheelcovers were used in numerous applications 1969/70 but all had different centre medallions.

The Firebird used it's own medallion, Canadian Pontiac 2+2 used it's own, so did the SD-396. Then there is the 1969/70 Tempest-Lemans-GTO useage.

MC . Yes I have a set of the fireball covers. And an abundance of his bias ply and vintage tires. They are awesome. And will do red center decals when the time comes

I have some of their stuff as well and am very happy with it.  I was thinking of getting some of those deluxe Pontiac caps for a '69 Firebird build somewhere down the list of planned projects (who am I kidding?  I don't have a plan... I just work on whatever speaks to me at the moment... currently nothing is speaking, however... lol).

I am planning to get some Beaumont and other conversion kits from Canuck 3D for future projects.  I would love to get some of the common wheel covers (pic below) for a '68 Beaumont project but am unaware of any being available in 1:25.  Do you know of any?

Thanks, I wasn't aware that they were used so widespread, but was aware of the A and F body use.
