'66 Grande Parisienne in Track & Traffic magazine

This may be the only period coverage of a 1966 Grande Parisienne in a magazine, from the October 1965 Track & Traffic, a Canadian Publication. -- Edited by GrandeDan on Sunday 10th of November 2024 01:30:11 AM

Pointy Ponty

Even though it's a US Pontiac, I thought I'd post this from a Consumer Guide magazine test. It's interesting and humorous how they word it. Typically, they never found beauty in a car, only its potential for danger.

Vehicle Report/Cowl Tag/Serial Number questions
(Preview)
I recently got my Vintage Vehicle Services report. The production date listed is two days later than that on the cowl tag. Is that unusual? The cowl tag has a six digit Body No. which doesn't match with the serial number or model number. What does it designate? At the bottom of the cowl tag is H35U80. Do ea...

1967 full size rally wheels
(Preview)
Were rally wheels an option on the 1967 full size cars? If so, what size would they have been? I have seen a few pictures of 67s with them but wasnt sure if they were stock. -- Edited by Shrike on Monday 4th of November 2024 02:29:48 PM

1967 Grande Parisienne 427?
(

(Preview)
Has anyone ever seen a factory 1967 Grande Parisienne 427? Does anyone have pictures of one? I know there was no external engine ID on this model year, so it is not always easy to spot. Not able to find any pictures or articles online except for the magazine test article posted here. 1967 Pontiac 427 - C...

What is this "X" in the VIN?
(Preview)
I was looking at a picture of a 65 Canadian Pontiac on Marketplace (owned by a member here) and I noticed the VIN tag. Anyone seen others with the "X" like this one? I can't imagine what it's there for.

66 US Pontiac option / accessory we never got
(Preview)
The US models got a couple of things I wish we had been offered. One is the very cool rally gauge cluster with oil and temp gauges in the speedometer head. This is the other one, the retractable reel out trunk light. Cool and very functional actually as well.

1966 Grande Parisienne, I'm the lucky second owner
(Preview)
I'm glad to be making my first post in this forum. I'm Dan Wells from New Westminster, BC. In early August, I purchased a 1966 Grande Parisienne Sport Coupe from the original owner in Edmonton, AB, where both owner and car have always resided. I've known the car and owner since 2011, when I wrote an artic...

Well, I have been absolutely flat chat since the beginning of the year. Haven't been popping in regularly. The company I worked for was bought out. The new owners found I was considering retirement in a couple of years and basically said they didn't want me if I was retiring. My previous employer backe...

Anyone have this 1969 Grande Parisienne
(Preview)
Does anyone here have or know of this gem? I really like the look of a 69 Grande without a vinyl top. Does not have the correct Grande grille. Have seen this a few times. Wonder why the grille got swapped out. -- Edited by Shrike on Sunday 22nd of September 2024 10:53:10 PM -- Edited by Shrike on Sunday 22nd...

Sorry for breaking this out as a separate post, but I'm searching for a photo of the date code / manufacturer marking on a Canadian built 1969 Pontiac. If you have a convertible with the original glass, please share a photo!

Cam anyone confirm trim codes for 65 Parisienne please?
(Preview)
Paint code T, is it golden? I believe I saw that TT is golden, but my tag says just T. Trim 291, does that mean Fawn interior? M35 - Powerglide? I also have C08 T-27 which I have no clue what are those. Thanks. -- Edited by Neilvermilion on Monday 7th of October 2024 05:37:47 PM

Fall 1968 build car, estate sale barn car. Not a glorious barn find. Car last used in 1984. The previous, late owner bought it because at the time it was fitted with a 300 hp 327. Motor was likely installed back into a Vette. Every single body panel rotted and beyond repair. The frame is rotted in places I h...
