What you are saying pretty much agrees with the general thoughts on 66 396 Canadian cars.
And back to the original question, does anyone have knowledge or confirmation of any sort of a 325 horse 396 1966 Beaumont? More than just "yes, a 325 horse was available"?

I would be willing to put money on there being no L35 Beaumonts in '66. There is nothing mentioned of it in the original brochures although they aren't always the best guide as I don't believe that the L78 was ever mentioned in the Chevelle brochures.

yes you could order the 66 malibu ss with a 396 it came with a flat hood and no were did it say ss396 but they had the 396 turbo jet cross flags, they also did this in the 67 model year, theres one of the 50 malibu ss 396 rags in my hood and a hard top as well, both 360 hp cars, i have a 67 malibu ss 396 canadian car and it has a bb hood and i think it came with one, but not sure, i have pictures of the car when it was 6 months old but there is a couple standing in frount of the hood and you cant see, so who knows,???
If anyone wants to check out more pictures of that very, very nice '66 Manitoba Chevy they can be found at: http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/showphoto.php/photo/12115/cat/500.......custom
Very, very clean. Neat to see by the pictures that the owner has a history with the car too.
