I was told theres a black on black 66 Cheetah in Winnipeg, was for sale in the early 1990's for $6500 had an M22 tranny in the trunk and modified big block under the hood, sitting in a barn requiring restoration, I tried many times to track the car-no luck, but someone who lives there may have better luck, the guy who told me of the car worked at the library can't remember the name, not much to go on but hey you never know

I remember a triple black SD bigblock ht pulling into the pony coral on a sunday about 12-13 years ago. loaded with options. i always look back and question if it was a cheetah or not. I was only about 18 at the time, only saw the car once. it was nice though, not a barn car.

Dave

I can't find the thread but AK was just talking about that car the other day. It's from Morris. It was Brian Klassen's till about '80. A friend of mine bought it and loaded it with options. He sold it early 90's I would say. Originally a Custom, buckets and 327 3 speed manual I think. SD trim now, air, tilt, every power option, GTO tach and gauges, reclining pass seat, AM/FM, 427 4 speed. Currently sitting outside rotting, for sale for about $25,000 I hear.

If you saw it with centerlines it was after he sold it. If it had black painted rallys he still owned it then. The car sits not too far from our place.

I learned of this one around 1995 but I'm thinking that $6500 in 1995 would have bought a project or at best a driver-I don't think this was a storey the guy seemed legit that told me about it-I think I called him about N.O.S. doors or something in the Old Car auto trader maybe and we got talking

Oh, if you guys come here on the 24th I can show you a video I made of all the options on that car, circa 1983.

Excellent!  To Carls we go!!!!!!!!  Better get out the photo albums carl.

yep that sounds like the car.  I thought i was cracking up, because i remember it having A/C.  OK, i guess i remembered right, and PW, etc, etc.
Some of my earliest "beaumont" memories, so i am guessing it was around 1997 that it was at the Pony.

Thanks Ron, for all the info.
I actually cast my own "ficticious" plaques for my GG sedan based on your pics.  They were real rough, but were a conversation piece.
I cast with thick alluminium, but i have heard the real ones were brass???

Ron, when you reply to a post you'll see a little box with "Attach Image(s)" next to it. Click on the box and the window will expand with the option to browse your computer for the photos. If you still have problems you can email the photos to canadianponcho@rogers.com and I'll post them for you.
 Todd

If I can figure out how to post pictures on this site I have a close up of the emblem and a picture or two of my old car

My original was aluminum and cast the belt buckles in brass.

The last information I have on Dennis Mac Gregors 66 cheetah is it is in a basement in Campbell River. But the gentleman was not doing well health wise.

I have a freind in Campbel river that is a car guy. If you have any info or a contact name, he could follow it up, find out if it's there and whats going on with the car. He won't be a buyer, just do it for fun.
Let me know.

I am trying to figure out if those are Buick wheels or Magnum 500. Blowing up the pic makes it fuzzy. Are those the wheels that came on a Cheetah?

Also, on the front fender, is that a side marker light or an emblem?

I called the guy on the island (oriental with the cheetah), he doesn't have one and never did.....but.....knows a guy who had one.......
So does everyone! but where are they NOW???
This guy did have some beaumonts a while back, but now has Camaro's and Nova's. He did thell me who he "gave" all his extra beaumont parts and trim to, so after I check it out, I'll post if anything is actually there.
still elusive to "touch" one of those cars. I hope to see Ron's in Maple Ridge before too long.

That is the emblem on the front fender.  Wheels i always thought were buick ones, but not sure 100%.  Fender has the emblem.

Isn't that the car that was in the chevelle/beaumont news a few times about 8 years ago.  There was also a close-up pick of the emblem.  I used that pic to cast my own rough set.

What about the "paw prints" i keep hearing about, what years did they use that marketing decal?

What a great looking car! At a quick glance it looks like a Buick GS with those wheels!

Wasn't Concours one of Chevrolet's 1960's Dream cars?.
They built the Waikiki Camaro and a 4-Dr Ragtop 65/66 B-Body w/ 69/70 wheelwell openings and cool hideaways for Motorama or something and wasn't there one built on a 64/65 A-Body too?.
Pretty sure one of them was called the Concours?.
