I would have to say White stripes too. It didn't matter what color the vinyl top was, the stripes were not color matched to the roof. I have seen a red car with black top and white SD stripes, coolest thing i ever saw.
This car would be wicked with white stripes against a dark green car, with black vinyl top.
My vote is hands down white stripes.

Hopefully I have another surprize coming soon! But, beaumontguru, better put your hands up!! Just a tid bit...........
I will clarify. The above car could have either black or white stripes. Would be interesting to find out. Sounds like you may have the answer 67 poncho?
I was just saying that i personally think it would look cooler with the white.

Wow, that is a interesting peice! and stripes on a 736! wild, anyone know of another one like that? hopefully the car does get a full resto, it really is a museum peice of canadian auto history...
don't know where it went-but it was 4-speed-claimed to be M22 in the day-looks like gold interior in the picture. Gerry Novosel on Memorial drive in Pelham owned it in this picture/sold it in 74/ maybe 75- he took me to look at the orange 69 SD in Orangeville about 7-8 years ago, he liked my ash gold 68SD but wouldn't cough up

There used to be a red 68 SD396 with black vinyl and white stripes in our town in the 80's. I knew the owner quite well. It had black carpet and white vinyl seats. Very well optioned car if I recall right. I don't doubt that the Cheetah stripes could have been white on this one...
nice pics for sure, every cheetah i have ever seen was a different color, it would be nice to see this 67 stored indoors, i have room in my barn, between the 66 and 68, lol the 68 is aztec bronze, black roof cover black int ,the 66 is red with a black roof cover, i will try and post a picture of the conroy white glove that was in the glove box of my 66 cheetah, this thing is so cool and maybe the only one left in existance , it has a plasitic garbage bag inside and a list of the cars that conroy sold, pontiac, buick, acadian, vauxhall, firebird, cheetah, conroyhome of the white glove service,
Hi Ron!!! Interesting artifact!! If you can, pictures are the mainstay of this site and I am sure that you will be requested by most on the site to take one of every possible angle of your Cheetahs!!!! Actually, bombarded may be a better word!!! (lol) This particular one is not mine but since I knew of it, I was permitted to take pics and post them for the site. Also, if you hit insert after you upload your pics to each one, the pictures will become the size as the one above. Also, joining photobucket and posting them that way will give the pictures the size and clarity as the ones I have posted! If you need assistance, ask me or anyone else on the site!!! Thanks for the pictures and keep them coming!!!!
i will send more pictures when i have time, i have lots of cool stuff, back to the d96 stripe package, i have a 67 malibu ss 396 350 hp auto its a loader car from mander chev olds in north van it has plumb mist matalic paint with black int and a white d96 strip package and because there was no designation in the stripe like the beaumont had the car has quarter panel script un like the beaumont had, beaumonts having the sd in the strip received no rear ,quarter sd trim, so gm did not match the int with the stripe color it was an off set with the paint. i will dig up some more goodys this weekend when i get time, keep the info coming,
i was also going to say i have only ever seen one cheetah with out a soft trim roof cover and it was a provincial white car with a red int , thats the car with the fluted trim piece between the tail lights not drilled and with no beaumont letters at all on the back off the car, but it was a 427 4 spd car all so had a wood dash like a gto with a wood chevelle steering wheel with a 65 corvette style cross flags center cap , this car was a l34 4spd sd car from the factory. at one time none as the fastest car in maple ridge bc, this car had a 66 bb chevelle hood mine has a flat hood .
Hey there.new to the forums here.A few years back, there was a guy by the name of Al that owned a restoration place called Detroit sixties. He moved out to Hammond, and he had a 67 Cheetah in his garage.I remember it being silver with a black top,but I also remember,it had chrome "Cheetah" script badges on the quarter panels where the "malibu" script would have been on a chevelle. The wheels were the Buick styled rims, but with PMD centers.
the script that was like ritten script was just a made up thing, a guy in hammond made up because he could not find sd trim at the time to fill the holes in the rear quarters after the car was painted , he was trying to build a clone car , not correct , 66 67 cheetah cars had badges on the front fenders , script was clone stuff .
Wow, library archive material for sure! It also looks like it has one of those plastic oval sheets people used to stick in the back window to prevent them from icing/fogging up when you didn't have a rear window defroster.
