RE: Beaumont Cheetah?

hello again, the mirrors on the cheetah cars were telbot mirrors, they were used on many super cars ac cobras dan gurny cougars and many race cars, a big buck piece today when restoring such cars, they were cast and were bad for piting in the the tuff canadian climate,

Hello,

Thanks for all the pics, nice to finally see something developing into the history of these beautiful cars.

my grandfather is Dennis MacGregor and he owned a blue '66 Beaumont Cheetah. He has some pictures, they aren't the greatest quality and over 40 years old, But I'll see if I can find them and upload them. Would love to see a Cheetah page get uploaded to the site, I really thought information on them would never turn up.

Adam, welcome here and I suspect you are going to be bombarded with people wanting to see those pics!

I doubt there is a site anywhere that has had more Cheetah discussion than this site.

To open this discussion up a bit again... there was discussion earlier in the thread about the green one in SK being a 736 car, with a 396 and that the thought was that these cars all came with flat hoods... later in the thread an early pic of this car shows it with the BBC hood..

what do you guys think? did the factory put this on? It could be possible that the hood change happened before the VIN... or do we have any hearsay of Conry putting this hood on the car? any thoughts?

Had a phone call from the "babysitter", and he was very upset with the above remark made weather it being takin' with a sense of humor or not. Not to sound crusty, but I took a lot of time in asking for permission and in asking for his time to take me to its location to take pics and to converse about the history on this car for all to see! He/we may have takin' the above remark out of context, but please people??

He wishes not to be, is his words, to be called a "mouse f***er" but would like some people to realize that the car sits on his property and he more than anyone would like it inside but for now, the restro is still on hold and this is out of his hands....... Just be a little more selective on what you say about others on this and other sites!!!

Thanks for posting... i will have to go out and buy this one! Looks like no rhyme or reason to emblem placement on the 66 or 67 cheetahs... so far no consistency on the few pics we've seen...

Even with some artistic license in the article, its a fun read and good to see the car get some publicity!

Hmmm. I wonder if it's the same George Pappas that I went to highschool with in Edmonton? I'll have to check that out...

Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to why Conroy chose the name Cheetah for these cars ?
