When soldering, it's always nice to have somthing to hold the wire steady, I've always seemed to fight with it when doing the smaller work, and I'm trying to do a nice job with these harness connectors. So I threw together this little jig for no real cost.
12G romex, from residential 12/2. Nice and stiff. 14/2 would probably work as well.
2 cheap China Auto alligator clips. Solder them on.
Cover the teeth with a couple layers of shrink wrap so they don't poke the wire insulation.
A scrap piece of wood and a self tapping screw.
Works great! Somtimes it's just the smallest thing that can make really make difference when doing a job.
Cheers.

im building one of those tonight!! thats perfect!! I am going to make one with four clips because i need it for wiring up electric guitars, and that would make it so much easier to hold the volume and tone controls!
