What are these?

On my 67', at the rear lower control arm mounts, there is a brace of some sort on either side. They face forward parallel with the frame rails and contact the floor with some kind of pad.
I've never seen anything like them. Are they a 4 door hardtop only thing?

Hmmm, looks like some Soviet secret agent stuff.

I don't think that's a factory piece. Now, what is it is the question......

Really?

I take it back then. I don't recall them on my 67 GP wagon though.

So much for it being spy stuff. Rats!

What does it do when it goes up through the floor?

They are on my Grandes and Rag as well. But not sedans from what I have had. I believe just an extra support horozontally to prevent body mount flex front to back. But they only protrude about 1/2 to an inch through the rubber.

Thanks Guys.

Could not find anything listed for it in the CP MPC.
Perhaps it more a Fisher body thing? I'm thinking the bodymount design had changed by 69', or perhaps they thought it no longer req. by then, as I've not seen them on that year anyway. As suggested, it does seem simply a hook to keep the body from moving forward or backwards on the frame, as it would only be usefull in that plane by the look of it. The adjustability of it suggests it gets set and tightened after the body gets put on the frame. Production tolerance differences probably called for the adjustability. Who really knows? Perhaps it's a vibration damper of sorts?

The 69' floor brace has the slot as well. I remember looking at it and wondering why the brace would have this shaped slot there anyway?

It's all interesting to me anyway!
