My 65 SD has chrome knobs.

Would you like me to take a pic and post it for comparison?

Bob, my parts manual shows both black plastic and chrome available from '62-'64 on all models.

Carl's pic shows '65 which are different than 62-64.

Here's what the chrome 62-64 look like.

Joel, that picture has what I would say is a Nova temp gauge. Is that a Nova dash or an Acadian?

Or is that your car?

That's a '63 Acadian SD temp gauge that's in my car.

I think you're thinking '65 which has different gauge face style and different dash knobs than '62-'64 which are the same gauge style as Nova/Chevy II but they use different bezel.

You can check my Build Thread where I showed pics of '62 & '63 Acadian and '63 Nova SS gauge clusters for comparison.

The base models had black plastic, the upscale models had plated metal. 1965 had a different style as Carls pic shows...

The 62 Chevy II's had black on entry level 100 models and chrome on top of the line Nova 400 models.

I do believe that 62 Acadian's had the black knobs for some reason.  My 62 Acadian 4 dr parts car is a Beaumont which should be top of the line model for that year yet the knobs are black.  Another thing I noticed was the steering wheel in this Acadian was not the deluxe two tone but the one color wheel only used in the cheaper models of the Chevy II.

I do believe I looked this up previously but do not remember the answer.  Is it possible the 62 Acadian Beaumont had an option package available for the upscale or maybe deluxe interior.  This would have included, chrome knobs, deluxe wheel, cigarette lighter, maybe deluxe seat covers?  chrome arm rests? etc? etc?

The chrome knobs were installed on the top models -- Canso in 64 , beaumont & SD in 63 and in 62 beaumonts if it was a hardtop, - 4 doors had a "deluxe beaumont" model, and these were top model and had chrome knobs
