Is your padded dash a full padded dash, not just the leading edge? how about your headlight doors? 2 piece with painted outer shell? my black 64 custom sport has all chrome , and I dont know that they were ever changed?

Hi Roger,
The whole "top" of the dash is padded from the windshield to the curved edge. The head light trim/bezels are one piece units. They have a chrome oval outer ring, and inbetween the two verticle headlights, there are alternating chrome, and flat black horizontial ribs to match the horizontial grill fins.

Where did you find the buildsheet Darryl? And where would I find one in a 67 Grande?
If you had left the key #s visible on the scans, I could have made some and taken her for a spin this summer on my way by!
Great post btw.
I found mine under the back passenger seat bottom . It had a hog ring holding it in place on the seat springs. The paper is greased/oiled?, that is how it lasted all these years.
Next time you are on PEI stop in ... Park Corner, the north shore.
Thanks for the compliment!

I FOUND ONE IN MY '68 GRANDE. IT WAS TUCKED IN THE SPRINGS IN THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS BUCKET. IT HAD A GROUPING OF CODES CIRCLED IN RED. I WROTE DOWN THE CODES AND REPLACED IT AS IT WAS IN THE SEAT. I FELT THAT IF IT HAD LASTED THERE FOR 40 YEARS, THAT WAS PROBLY A SAFE SPOT FOR IT.
Fred, you are an internet ninja! : ) I tried finding them with no luck ... I thought they were lawyers.
Their old location is now a East Indian restuarant in Sherbrooke named Sultan.

...we have all the same documentation Darryl (...along with the booklet saying Care and Operation of the Convertible Top - it was all sitting in the glove box...!) except I haven't had the back seat cushion off yet to check for the build sheet. I've ordered the option documentation fro GM Historical..
...still don't know about our engine...came with a 2 barrel and single exhaust (both now changed...) but also with double-hump heads. Did any 283's come with double-humpers..?
