Just watched lots of youtube videos on how to remove my rear drums, some without success and some damage. I havent touched em yet, but would prefer not to bang away or pull when its not going to come off anyway because It wasnt ready to because I neglected to align the flux capacitor or something. I think they have been off recently. Normally I would just go for it, but with Canadian Poncho friends a click away, I'd be foolish not to ask. Probably something most here learned in childhood but new to me. Tks in advance and stop laughing;)
I answered my own question when the one I wasnt looking at just came off in my hand. - I was going to edit this post to remove the question, but it'll give you good insight what this is like for a newb.

As you may have guessed, don't be shy with a hammer on the face of it around the studs. The only problem is you have to make very sure you don't hit a stud unless you want to replace them!

Consider yourself lucky you aren't working on a 50's Mopar! On my 59 Dodge you have to use a special puller to remove the rear drums and they can be a real biatch!
yea, I already consider myself lucky as I was told that I might have drums that require opening the rear dif and I've already gotten into several things that I had no intention of touching. But am glad that I did so far.
