I can check tonight but I am pretty sure the Nova and Acadian pan is unique. I think all that will work is 62-67 Nova and Acadian.

The 62 pan is definitely a front sump which requires a matching front sump pick up tube.  Also the shaft between the distributor and oil pump is shorter.
they were like this from 62-67.  Rear sump pans will not clear the steering linkage.
They make a pan for the V-8 that is notched and then you do not need to change any other parts.
If you changed the front clip to aftermarket, you don't have a problem.

Norm, are you talking V8 only or 6 cyl as well? I see he is asking for 6 cyl.

I forgot to look this stuff up last night.

As you can see in this picture of a 63 Nova with the 194 6 cyl, the oil sump is in the front.  It is located between the steering linkage and the front crossmember.
I don't believe there is enough room available for a rear sump pan.
I did check some suppliers and it doesn't appear they are selling a front sump pan for the 6 cyl but it is possible that the V-8 pan is interchangable.

ok. it sounds like i`ll have to change the pick up and oil pan witch is not a big deal since it`s coming out anyway..anything else that i`ll have to rob from the 194 to the big 250.hmm

you may have to make a new dipstick hole in the pan and reconfigure your stick because of the stick location 194 versus 250.I did this on my 67 nova and works good now!

Did you read the part I posted about the shorter distance from distributor to oil pump??
According to Chevy2Only catalog,

Rear sump oil pump will not work on a front sump application.

OIL PUMP DRIVE ROD
Oil pump drive rod for the front sump oil pan is different than a standard
Chevy small block. It is ½ shorter. Pt# 01004

Norm, is there a drive rod on a 6 cyl? GM parts book has none listed. I asked one of our techs and he says the distributor goes right to the oil pump, no intermediate shaft.

Anything wrong with the 194? It's a 4 cyl right? I'm looking for a rebuilt or good running one.

i love what you did biggrin  how did you plug the other dip stick hole in the block..did you just use a hand drill, if so how did you get the angle right.. also what did you have to change to make the 250 work..oil pump and pick up and pan and......

oil pan and sump came from my old 194, and I used the 194 as well to figure out the angle so the dipstick would pass between the block and the sump pipe
it is actually 2 holes one slightly smaller first (after pilot hole)
so the tube bottoms out aprox 1/2in down.
