I just picked up a 3970010 350 4 bolt main block of my neighbor. Go figure I was looking for a block and there is one next door all this time. Its either a 69 or a 79 block dated May 4th. Would be great if it was a 69 as my car was built May 20th. But I think is a 79. The block number is K05 79 800. I know the K is for Mckinnon Ind. the 05 for May, would the 79 be the year ? Any body ever see a 800 suffix code ? Could it be a over the counter crate engine ? I have heard that some crate engines part numbers ended with 800. There are no other numbers on the pad.
No, was not on the the back but on the side of the block. 9.E.4 . Its in the same place as my 74 block I got. The first number is the year. 9 is 69 or 79.

All I could find was a Corvette question (unanswered)
What does the ID number K05 79 800 stamped on the pad at the front passenger side of the engine block on my 1979 Corvette designate?
