67 Beaumont Speedo cable too short

Looking for advice to avoid buying the wrong cable. My 67 Beaumont has a 454 with 4 sp muncie. The cable is too short as the muncie has the opposite side exit.  It comes up a couple of inches short. Any suggestions? tks

An aftermarket cable and housing is readily available. If you don't have any success finding one, let me know and I should be able to find a part number for you.

The stock part number is 1588291 (AC 75) cable is 68 5/8" - casing 67 1/2".
 65 - 67 Beaumont, F/8 US Pontiac
 Chevelle is different.

That part number isn't showing up in the GM parts system. It must be obsolete as there is no changeup part number for it. I can try checking tonight for any other numbers it may have been over the years.

I cant find it either, except for a 40's chev (1588291-a).  Having the length helps, I cant imagine it would be too difficult, I just dont want to order something that I cant use. Thanks again!

An extension costs about the same as a new cable, but should be the easiest?!  My current cable is installed at the speedo, and strapped near the trans.

I think a 70" would do just fine here too.

Ok, I checked the old parts books. I show Chevelle and Beaumont using the above mentioned number (1588291) but I guess from GM it is toast. I recently got a new cable for my Acadian and it was 83".

It was a bit too long but easy to reroute and make it fit. It was an ATP Y-803.
