Tranny out of my 64 Beaumont


Been meaning to ask this question for some time now.

My 64 SD convertible originally came with a powerglide. Sometime prior to my buying it the tranny was changed to what I think is a 350TH.

From the attached pics, am I correct? Casting number is 8640300 with CFD1 below it. There is also a circle containing 17   ...   and 5-76 is this a date code?

And the second part is, what does the C   I  and X X mean or stand for? It almost appears that they were welded onto the casing as they are neither the same size nor symmetrical.

So as I expected its a th350.

So what do the letters welded(?) into the top of the casing mean?
