Does anybody know how to read the date on these carbs and what does the SA. SB, or just a S after the 3721 mean? Does anybody have one for sale? I am also looking for a good 1111075 distributor.
From what I get out of my chevy by the numbers book is the date code would be a letter from A to M missing the letter I for the month , A being Jan. followed by a number representing the year. A4 would be Jan. of 64. The S seams to be a mistory but the A and B following are for revisions. SA being the first the model was revised and SB the secound. They show also in the book that the SA was added in Nov. of 64 and used until late model year of 65 when it was replaced by SB.
Why would they skip the "I" for the month? So "H" is August and "J" is September? I ended up with a 3921S because of a mistake by the seller and that's a Buick carb I think. I wonder what the difference is?
They skip the I in most castings because of confusion with a number 1.
Does the Buick linkage arm for the accelerator pedal rod not look quite different than the 3721?
Yes it does and the base plate has a extra fitting on the rear that pipes into the secondaries. It also has a valley on the base plate between the primaries that's also not the same. I gave the fellow I bought it off the part number 3721S and he said he had it so I guess he didn't put his glasses on.

I am building the numbers match motor for the Cheetah and I'm missing a few odds and sods. The weights in the vaccum advance is the difference and that will affect your total timing.
Still looking for it along with a carb. I found complete carbs on ebay for 400.00 but that seems steap. As for the distributor the one that I missed on ebay is the first one.
