I thought I'd start a new thread about these since the "wrecking yard" thread was derailing (as we often do here!)
Anyway, I posted up on a US Pontiac forum and should have a picture of the vacuum power lock switch and it's location in a day or two, thanks to a Bonneville owner there.

That's a great idea. I'd like to take it one step further and have a new thread pertaining to each option for simplicity sake.
If someone would be willing to donate a 66 Pontiac cluster to the cause, I'd like to get one with the connector and a few inches of wire harness snipped off. I would do up a complete thread on converting from idiot lights in a Canadian cluster, converting a Canadian car to a US cluster with gauges.

Oh, that I already have. I was lucky enough to find a set of the 70 only power lock switches (electric) years ago in a wrecking yard. I've saved them a long long time for the right car. I think I found that car now!
And yes, I've had a car with vacuum locks and much prefer the electric setup.
You can always spend $69 each and buy 2 repro lock switches that are the right style if you are stuck though.

.......well they do have similar style bezels so could pass for originals, and no one will know the difference anyway except a real die hard pontiac man . Good to know so I will watch for them at the swap meets etc. I will probably try convert my vac ones when I get there some day. Thanks 4 the pic.
Those 70 switches are real tough to find and real expensive if you do. Best just to buy repro I am thinking.

No, I am pretty sure it was a little black push button with two vacuum ports on the back. The button would be maybe 5/16" diameter and sticks out maybe 3/8" or so.

I came here 4 years ago thinking that since I've done 66's since I was 18 years old that I knew everything about them. I've likely doubled my knowledge on them since I came here, with no end in sight!!!

Sorry, should've posted this pic too. Bought the car from a scrap collector who had to see what was in the trunk. You saw the 66 Biscayne last time you were here, same story.

Ken, do you think this one looks the same as the one you pictured? I saw one like this in a wrecking yard recently.
