clear seat cover

Hi,

i`m looking around for clear seat cover like the Gm Dealer used in the 50th  60th

Who knows or who have already found this?

A company called JC Whitney offers universal fit:

Have anybody used? How does it works?? Can`t fit for a Toyota Corolla and an 1965 Parisienne bench or ?

You may or may not know that J.C. Whitney has been around since those days in the 60-70's and it did not take savvy customers long at all to discover the clear covers where being made by the same company whether you bought them from the dealer or mail order from J.C. Whitney.

By the 70's we were buying the universal fit seat covers, both clear and others.  The dealers had pretty much given up on selling them at inflated prices and the cost of stocking them wasn't paying off.

My guess is you can order them from J.C. Whitney, get rid of any draw strings or elastic fasteners that don't really work and choose anyone of a number of current fasteners, available online or maybe at a fabric store and make them a custom fit.

I started towing trailers on a regular basis back in the 80's and soon I discovered the towing components, such as balls, receivers, sway bars were being sold under brand names such as draw-tight, reese, etc by related retailers.  When I looked at the J.C. Whitney catalog, which they mailed to regular customers, I found the same components without the brand names and minus the retailers markup.  By the 80's these items were in many cases being manufactured in Asia and J.C. Whitney was purchasing them direct and selling them cheaper without a brand name.
