GM Rad. Transmission cooling line flare fitting size?

Generally, on GM Radiators circa 67, what size are the line fittings?

Are they 1/2-20 Inverted flare?

Cheers, Mark

Should be a 5/16 line so just a standard 5/16 flare fitting is what you want. Are you replacing the end or trying to repair threads?

I just fixed mine up and normal 5/16ths worked fine.

I'll be adding a aux trans cooler and don't want to go with just rubber hose. I want to do an inverted flare to AN-6 adapter fitting on the rad cooler outlet. I'll go with pre made braided lines to and from the aux cooler.

You say the threads of the female cooler inlet and outlets are 5/16?  Or are the lines 5/16?

Cheers and thanks, Mark

Yes, that is the correct description of it Mark. I had to look in the Weatherhead book to make certain before I replied!

1/2" OD, 20 threads per inch.
