The 4spd consoles are not that hard to find just very expensive, there have been a lot on eBay lately.

Sorry I missed that, if you would be so kind and ask your buddy, that would be great. And anything else like shifter and any linkage that would be great. Thanks
thats the other end of it what size of fly wheel 153 or 168 both take their own starter. the 168 can be pirated of of GM trucks of 80s and the starters. bells wont work the hole for the tranny is two big, but camaros from 81 back work well

Thanks Carl, what consols will fit my 2+2( standard)
If I recall, while 66 and 67 consoles are similar, they are different. You'll be looking for a 67 Impala 4 speed console. Using an aftermarket shifter will present some challenges, mainly with clearance up into the console. Rick "67rag396" did this a few years ago, but we lost him and his wealth of knowledge last year.

I know most guys say 66-67 are the same but I also know Clint knows his stuff! What's the difference Clint?
Also, 66-67 consoles come in two finishes, aluminum appearance top or woodgrain. The Caprices and Grande Parisiennes use woodgrain, the rest use the aluminum look.
A Hurst Competition Plus is "supposed" to fit the factory console but I can't say for sure that it does.
I have always liked the factory shifters. With a little practice full throttle shifts work just fine.

how much did it go for, just curious, as far as the shifter handle goes i would try and find a original and mount it to a hurst body that the easy part, and ebay has lots for cheap, the rods can be bought new or used but you first need to know the lenght, B bodies are unique. the bracket depends on the type of tranny muncie warner or sag, you can build your own if need be. console are phisically the same it all cosmetic. eek i just found your console i know i didnt sell mine for 1660.

I wish Rick was here to answer these, as I was going on what he said. Re 66-67 consoles, I don't remember what the difference was, it might have just been something cosmetic. Rick wasn't impressed with the stock Muncie shifter, he even had a rebuilt one that didn't suit him. He had a rebuilt Hurst shifter, and I remember he had to notch the crossmember for proper clearance. I remember it was all a tight fit go get everything to line up within the stock 4 speed console.

A 66 console will fit a 67 no problem, they are identical if not the same. The caprices may have used different emblems resulting in different holes being drilled in the console, thats all I can think of that would be different.
