8 lug to 5 lug


...confusehey everyone ...i'm sure this has been discussed before but i want to fit some 5 lug cragar wheels to a 1966 pontiac Bonneville that i'm about to buy. It has a set of 8 lugs on it at the moment . is it possible to do this ?.......thanks jsr

hi, If I recall right, just undo the 5 lug in the center of the 8 lugs wheel and remove. you should have access to the center of the axle. Hope I am correct in my info

BTW if you want to sell the 8 lugs, let me know,,,,

hey thanks dan ...i'd have to get 5 lug drums too I guess to replace the 8 !

....a nice set chrome cragar 10x15's with pos a traction torque twisters on the back and 7x14 's on the front !

 Yep you'll have to find some 66 US Pontiac 5" X 5 stud drums!!  Did this with my 64 Catalina after I broke a brake drum steel liner on the 8 lug!!!  I liked the 8 lug appearance but they were a PITA to balance. New rims made a big change in how it rides & a pleasure to drive now

Just remember Chevy drums "WON"T FIT" & neither will the Chevy wheels unless the big pattern 5" X 5 or you could just buy my car & have the "LOOK" quicker!!! pete

that is one awesome looking car but .....I'm after a 66 bonny sport back hard top......I have found two , one's a project and one is mint looking ....I'm going to see them this weekend ! I had better put the feelers out for some 5 stud US drums !
