RE: 67 Strato Bench restoration

I initially wanted a Strato-Bucket seat/console car.  I almost did not buy my car because of the Strato-Back bench seat. But I read up on it and I liked the unusual-ness of the seat and the color combination of the car.

The armrest with the Strato backs are the best of both worlds really. The seat must be really comfortable?

I'll miss the armrest, but visually, the console will more than make up for that.

I also noticed you have a tilt column BigDog. Nice. So far I only have a floor shift non tilt. Know of anyone with a floor shift tilt 67 Impala column for sale?

I have one that i bought to use in my 66 Grande but never used.  It is listed for a 66 Chevy.  I'm not sure if 67 would be the same

Thanks Ken, but the column collars are different 66-67. The 66 kind of has a conical shape where it meets the dash. 67 has a step.

67 Impala is (I think) exactly the same as a 67 Parisienne.

No, 67 is totally different Ken. It mounts way different under the dash and it's the new improved collapsible style.

Yes, I love my tilt column. I think I got a pretty good deal, too. I traded a drum brake setup, w/spindles, to a guy in Michigan straight-across for column-shift tilt that he tried to convert to a floor-shift column. The column was kind of hacked, but still decent. I sent it to a guy Pennsylvania for a full rebuild. It came out nice.
Look for a 67 or 68 column.

Scroll through the picture to see a regular bench and a Strato-Bench with 4-speed.

But this is a Pontiac, so it's just a Strato Bench, not a Strato "Back" Bench!

Wow Carl! Nice! More pictures please!

I do hope that the shifter is in second gear. Actually it looks like the seat is way forward.

I need a 67 Strato front bench seat if anyone has or knows someone with one. Thanks for this thread and nice job restoring that seat.

Hi Booboo, welcome here.

Make sure you post a Strato Bench Wanted ad here in the classifieds. Not everyone may see your need for one here in the Interior forum.

Care to share with us what you want to put it in?
