Experienced my first PEI snow storm today. Wind gusts to 100kmh. It started as rain this morning and then turned to snow about 10am. I had to take a different route to work as my regular route was blocked by a fallen tree. The boss told me to leave at noon as the road were getting bad. With the Jeep it was almost fun driving home. No problems with 4wd and studded snows. It's funny how on such a small island the weather can really vary. Charlottetown wasn't too bad however about 15 minutes east it was bad however another 25 minutes to my place it isn't quite as bad. The power was out here for about 90mins. Connie had no problem firing up the generator. We have lots of gas in case it goes out again. I think it's time for a nap..
More snowy pics. The Belle River runs behind our property. It flows into the Northumberland strait which is about 2km from our house. It's quite swollen today and its flowing right up to the edge of our woods. Typically it's about 100 feet away. The path to the river:
The Belle River as seen from the edge of the woods
Connie dragging one of the many fallen limbs that fell today.
Our woods is made up primarily of spruce and birch trees.

Welcome to the Maritimes!
I'll never forget the time I was driving back home to Halifax from New Brunswick in my 5.0 Mustang. Poor visibility at night in blowing snow, roads very slippery and snow depth rapidly increasing, the drive was getting more white-knuckled with each passing kilometer. Just past the airport towards Halifax - rain and wet roads. Just like somebody had drawn a line with snow on one side rain on the other. Drove into town without one spec of snow to be seen except for the 4 inches of accumulation on my car! Lots of ocean influence to the weather makes for interesting winters here.
Where I live that would be sacrilege to some people....
Thre's lots of these "bathtub Jesus" and "bathtub Mary" on the Catholic area sidestreets of Toronto. Some are very elaborate, with plexiglass fronts to protect the statues.

Spotted today in a southern state. This has to rank up there with the worst selection of wheels and tires I've ever seen. At least he did it to a Ford.
