Love the firewall markings...did anyone ever figure out what they are?
Sadly, I haven't even taken the time to look at them and try to figure them out. I finally had a chance to drive it last night, put on about 60-70 miles. Fun!
And last night I received a replacement front fender emblem in the mail for it. Now to allot some time to change it...

Carl, get that car onto the TransCanada and head west to my place in Calgary. I'm not working tomorrow, and I'll change the emblem for you - free of charge.

Well, I looked at my chore list for this evening, did a couple of them, realized I'd never get them all done and said "shove it"!
So, I'm sorry Clint but I figured it would take less time to install it than to drive to Calgary...
Very nice...... I mentioned before, I had a friend who's dad was firechief He had a 66 Biscayne 283 stick on column Nice running car Does your Chief pull nicely up though 1st and second? 3:08's in it ?
I'm amazed at how much power it has for a 283 with 3.07's. I've had 283 powerglide B bodies and never thought of them as being much fun to drive, but this feels completely different. My latest thought was, I wonder how it would be if I left the 283 as is and did the 4 speed conversion? That might be fun too. Decisions, decisions...

I think a survivor with correct 4 speed would be awesome
But you still have those Raised White Letter BFG tires, eh?
Dave
It's all about time. The new tires are here, I just need a couple of hours free some evening to do it when I'm not too tired to get out of the computer chair! I can't wait to get rid of the white letters...

Carl. When I owned my 66 Parisienne the firewall had some markings still on it. The one near wiper motor said 283. The one behind coil was the model number and by the heater box was a couple of letters maybe an inspecter's initials??? Bob.

I got rid of those white letters today, new tires are on, one size larger now too. Very happy with how it looks and drives, didn't even wash the car, the tires or the rims but at least it's done. I certainly prefer this look over the smaller tire with white letters.
Crappy picture but it's all I got.
Oh yeah, and 427Carl, the weights are only on the inside too
