1968 Open Door Warning Light?

A 1968 full size Pontiac option B02, Open Door Warning Light. Has anyone ever seen or heard of one in a car? I didn't know they existed.

Never heard of that, I have noticed in assembly manuals lots of RPO's were sometimes cancelled.

No, not that one, but I've seen a few pages tonight with CANCELLED written on them.

I didn't look at the Chevelle assembly manual tonight but my favourite one I saw in there one other time is under the 67 Chevelle, there's a big block tri-power Holley setup pictured with a big CANCELLED across it!

The "door open" light mounts right beside the headlight switch. You drill a hole in the dash and there's a lens and socket that fit in there.

I wasn't in the Chevy book at all to see if they maybe have it too.

Carl I wonder if that was an option for taxi cab use?

If i remember correctly, even 64 chevys and chevelles had that for taxi cabs, shown in the assembly manuals, for the rear doors on taxi cabs only.

Ya that tri power is in the chevelle assembly manual i have too,  CANCELLED, dang, could you imagine!
