Identifying an elusive part

Had my engine rebuilt and now looking for the final touches to put it back in the car.

Having trouble properly identifying a part name and source.

At the top back of the block next to the distributor mounting hole there is another hole, crankcase vent hole ?, into which mounts a crude form of PCV valve.

From what I'm able to find PCV valves as we think of them didn't come into being until around 1969. The first V-8 had a road draft tube and then later on instead of this venting below the engine the vent was routed to the base of the carb.

Every supplier I've checked shows a more conventional PCV with 1 threaded end and one end with a hose connection. Obvious not a fit for this hole.

Car is a 64 Beaumont SD, 283 220hp, but utilizing a replacement 283 Chevelle engine date stamped October 65.

The mounting hole is evident in the attached pic. It is the smaller of the 2 holes ( 1 1/4" ) hole next to the distributor mounting hole.

Part I'm looking for is present on my 65 Parisienne CS 283 but extremely hard to get a pic of because of storage. But atleast I do know what it looks like.

Looking for all help in getting a proper name for the part and then a reliable source.

Always trying for original look but as a second thought. Might there have been an adapter developed that went into this 1 1/4" hole and then the newer style PCV valve threaded into the adapter?

What has been your experience with things like this?

Below is a picture of the rear block vent cap and bolt you need.

The threaded PCV valve screws into the carb and is connected to the cap nipple with a hose.

This first photo is like the one pictured above
The second and third picture is a different style gromunt in hole with steel tube going
around dist with piece of hose up to PCV

So were all on the same wavelength as to what was there originally.
If I can't come up with an original then an improvisation similar to what Brian shows will have to be fabricated.
Will wait until you guys search your stashes until deciding or might anyone know a source for a new one?

The second one I show with the grommet and pipe is an original one that came off
a 64 Beaumont that my wife had when we got married in 1970. The other one was on
my 64 Chevelle. The grommet and pipe were also used on the Corvettes at the same time.
Probably used what was in the bin at the time on assembly line???????

Thread size in the block is 1/4" NC.

Now I have to move to a discussion on what is on the other end of the hose at the carb.
All the PCV valves I've found listed for 64,65 and 66 have a male screw fitting on 1 end and hose on the other.
For 67 both ends are for hose or thru a grommet. And my rochester Q-Jet 4MV carb is dated 67 and has a hose fitting cast into the base so I can't just screw into it with a 64,65 66 valve. There is also a question as to whether some PCV valves are designed to work laying on their side or only in the vertical position ( I think the latter versions only work when mounted vertically thru the valve cover ).

Have to go out to the storage and see how my 65 CS is hocked up.
