Not sure if I've ever seen a car with a hood scoop and fender skirts.

Hey folks, been a while since i visited this thread. Though i might stick some build photos up. Presently have the 3:08 posi diff out completely to install the other 3:55 posi diff. That was a job by myself I tell ya! Thank god for the car hoist! Also have the intake off. Had a bad oil leak, and i mean bad. The front china wall seal had been sucked in a little letting the oil flow out. Also time to upgrade the fuel injection to a FAST ezi-efi adaptor kit. Also fitting some large valve closed chamber heads onto the big block for more compression. Will try to put replies on this thread with pics of each job. I tend to skip between jobs rather than finish one at a time. If i am waiting for parts, need a third party to do some work or raising some cash to do and buy said parts, i will work on the diff or other bits and pieces.

anyway, here are some shots of bits and pieces of paint and body work. As a panel beater/painter  I make a good electrician. Haha. But i like it and its mine.

Getting the interior done. Yes, its a chevy impala interior. when i bought the interior there wasnt much available for pontiac. Bought all interior except carpet from classic industries in the US when the dollar was at parity! Yes, Parity! Mate bought them in in a container. Was heaps cheaper than buying and doing in australia. Door cards complete hang on, all new trim, rubbers, seals, armrests, armrest pads, convertible top, convertible top seals, cover, tension wires, top hooks, steering wheel, interior screw kit. The works. Came out pretty shmicko I reckon!

Thanks mate! Been so flat chat with work, no covid slowdown or shutdown for our workplace, and jobs at home havent had a chance to do some decent posting, but have the car bug and some spare time again so gonna post some stuff!

diff change, injection upgrade, head change, roller rockers. More to come. Should come out with some more grunt and get up and go!

So lets talk about the intake. wanted to have something sticking out the bonnet (i have three so what the heck!) l. Dont have the money to buy a supercharger, so tunnel ram it is. Came across a SBC setup with an edelbrock proflo setup quite cheap.had a procharger setup from a hotrod. So I proceeded to strip it down to install on my tunnel ram. The injectors are rated at 36lbs per hour at 45psi fuel pressure so will handle 425-540hp. Suitable for my BBC. Proceeded to install all parts onto my tunnellram.

water temp, air temp, twin 90mm throttle bodies, map sensor, vacuum referenced rising rate regulator ( not that the rising rate reference will be used without some forced induction) and injectors. Had the holes cut for the injector bungs and welded them in, then made the fuel rails. Very fiddly step drilling them to the right diameter holes. Tapped them to take the fittings.

interesting fact, the flairs for the pipework to fit the dash fittings is 37.5°. The same as airconditioner piping. Was half the price to buy a quality flairing tool from the states. Made all the supports for the rails. Was a big job.

made the plate for the top of the throttle bodies/air cleaner base and ordered a custom unifilter.

had that running really good but decided time for an upgrade. I bought the FAST ezi efi adaptor kit. This means i can reuse my sensors and injectors. Just need to get some adaptors for the injector plugs.

needed to make some mods to the setup first. Cut into the front fuel rail crossover to install the fuel pressure sensor adaptor. It just fit. Relocated the air temp sensor to the aircleaner base. where it is recommended to go. I had put it in the crossover pipe between the carb mounts. It was where the map sensor tube is now connected. That used to be connected to the back of the

tunnell ram, teed in with the vacuum reference tube for the transmission and tended to fall off now and then. also removed the large idle control motor. Was mounted on top below the intake base, you can see the new cover plate. It took air from one of the throttle bodies and fed it into the top of the tunnell ram. you can also see a cover plate on the front throttle bodie. I will be utilising the one on the rear throttle body and had to remove both and swap them over, then open out under the IAC air chamber into the tunnel ram.

i removed all of the old controls and harness of the pro flo, ready for the new FAST system, it was an absolute bugger to get out. You know when you do a really good job so it stays there? Yeh, it was like that.

There are some pics of the old gear in a box and the new stuff. Had to redo the distributor ends of the spark plug leads due to spark plug type posts of the new distributor, rather than push in type.

hope that wasnt too long...will keep posting as the install progresses.  ext we shall have a look at the heads!
