153 CuIn vs 230 and 283 parts interchange

Does anyone have a good book showing the parts interchanges between a 153 4banger and a 230/283

I am mainly interested if the pistons are the same ones on a 153 as well as the con rods

I know that 230 and 283 pistons intercahange with eachother but with a couple part # variations

From a quick whip around the internet. Don't quote me on it though...

I do see the same part numbers coming up for replacement pistons 151/230

According to the parts book 153, 230 and 283 share a piston.

153, 194, 230 and 250 share a connecting rod, 283 is different.

Also the crank journals & therefore big end rod bearing journals are all the same diameter (153, 194, 230, 250, 283) since the 283 was still using a small journal crank. Intake & exhaust valves are dimensionally the same with 1.72" intake & 1.50" exhaust, although the 283 had aluminized faces on the valves. The 153 four & the sixes had an 8.5:1 compression while the 283 used a 9.25:1 compression. Combustion chamber volume per cylinder at TDC was 5.37 cubic inches for the fours & sixes, 4.47 cubic inches for the 283.
