Who sent this weather out here?? Vancouver Island

Alright who did this, right now it's -13*c here. And yes we have snow on the ground, well a few inches anyway.

Long range forecast does not show any signs of it getting better anytime soon. It's not very often we get this type

of weather, we were probably due for a cold snap, but was gonna do a garage extension and need this to stop very soon, LOL.

I guess we can save some more money until it thaws out. Alright you can quit laughing now.

Yes, woke up yesterday to blowing, drifting snow in Victoria. The hummingbirds are perturbed, as they are here year round.

This is one thing (weather) that my wife and I never discuss this winter. Every day is fairly much the same with an odd rain storm and wind gust. 100 yards from my unit I walk by this.  Great thing is my investment is a lot less than you guys have into one of your cars.

Cold as heck here in PEI. High winds with a wind chill of -27c. I know it's not Sask cold but still.

She' dumping on the Island. Cleaned off James car shelter and in an hr had 2 more inches of snow on it. Malahat(#1 hwy) is closed. Went to work Friday and was supposed to head up Isl. Didn't go...truck would make it but was worried about the other idiots on the road and getting stuck up there because of a road closure. Saw cars upside down and into trees on the way home Friday with 2" on the ground! If you are not comfortable or don't know how to drive in this wet coast snow.....stay home!!! I know you guys r laughing at the amount of snow we have!

You are right. I checked the island forecast and saw "snowfall warning". I checked and it was a forecast for 2". I called my wife over to look at the monitor and we both had a good laugh!

This pic is taken more horizontal..you can tell from the trees that about 6%-8% grade. Only takes 1 driver on a hill to muck it up for all the rest of us!

Approx 12 inches of snow in the last 7 hours, and yes we have HILLS here so it makes it a little

harder to drive with the slippery stuff. The small hill between me and Victoria is only 1200 ft high.

I am almost 300 ft above sea level at my house, and within 10 miles it climbs to 1200.

With a lot of people  from flat land area that have no idea of what the snow is like here and what a hill is,

they create a lot of havoc on the road when it snows, LOL.

Jim, that picture of our hills is way exaggerated, have you forgotten? We only have one hill, and that's the one that Dan's big house sits on. All the rest is perfectly flat.

Close to 12 inches on the ground and still snowing, 10:45 pm. Forecast for another 6 inches  before

things let up. So much for an early car season. Well I guess it's still not -30 so I guess were all good.

Lots of firewood and a phone to call into work. LOL. I guess tomorrow is shovel day.
