1968 Beaumont SD for sale in Sechelt, BC

Hey guys

This is my father-in-law's ride, he's getting too old to enjoy it any longer after having purchased it from me it a number of years ago...

PM if interested, thanks and enjoy the pics

Hi Mark

The classified ad rules here ask for a price to be posted for all items listed for sale.

Could you put a price in your ad please?

No worries, we tend to be pretty easy on new guys around here but since I'm one of the "police officers" on this site I had to mention it!

Thanks!

What is the original color? 325hp or 350hp?

If I'm not mistaken I believe the color was Gold(autumn gold?)with black striping/decaling.I'm going to get the build sheet from GM Canada to substantiate that. But I can recall seeing the gold color on it when we were stripping it.I was told it was originally from the previous owner man years ago it was 350HP,but can't prove that without the build sheet,or can I?Also need /want to confirm the trans in it as well as it came with a 4 speed when I bought it years ago.Clutch linkage and trans hump all look original, and if someone tried to switch it over did an amazing job.It now houses a 700R4 that my father in law put in(shame, but he's older)lol, still have the linkage and non matching 4 speed trans that replaced the supposed original one that grenaded so many years ago when it was raced.

It may be worth spending the money and getting the GM Vintage Vehicle documentation for it.

Besides, you get a "discount" because you're buying the documents with US dollars!

Would the cowl tag show colour, engine and tranny on this 68?

I think tranny would show if it's a 4 speed. I'm not sure about the others though. The 4 speed would show because of the hole needing cut in the floor I would think.

65post,no they were still on the car.In my infinite wisdom,(ya i was a dumb kid)I decided to pop them off and give it a cleaner look.In hindsight I should have kept them, but such is life. Couldn't even begin to think about what I did with them.Mark

Back in the day a lot of old cars lost their trim.Finding 68 SD side moldings today ( if you can find them ) would be like finding Big Foot.

The 68 cowl tag would show the engine and the transmission if there was a selected option. The 738 cars came with a 325HP engine as standard equipment so it would only show the 350HP option if it were ordered that way. 3 speed standard was the base transmission so any upgrade including the powerglide would show on the cowl tag as well.
Body color and interior color would show on the cowl tag as well some other info.

Good morning,he's asking mid 30's.Has had a lot of work done over the years. It's a numbers matching with a non-matching trans that was blown out of it years ago.Was painted approx 7 years ago, paint is amazing and garage kept since redone. There's quite a story and history to this car as well. Thanks,Mark

So I guess there's some confusion of the local of this car.The forum title says 68 Beaumont SD for sale in Sechelt BC.Its a small town off the sunshine coast just north/west of West Vancouver. You have to take a ferry to get there.Only one though. And yes of course it's a CDN price.Hope this clears up any confusion. Thanks,Mark

Isn't that close to where they use to film the Beachcombers many years ago? It's a beautiful area.

Good morning, that would be correct sir. It's still as beautiful as it was back then when they filmed the beachcombers.I too grew up watching it as a kid.The boat(Nick's)is still on display downtown"The Persephonie" not sure of correct spelling, and you can still get a great meal at "Molly's Reach" Sechelt is just a half hour up the highway from that. Thanks,Mark
