Well good on you Jim. What a touching story and I can only imagine how a familys life is changed when receiving that diagnosis. Maybe together some of us here at CP can round up some money and even have a $500 CP sponsorship. Id be willing to start it with $50.

So sad to hear this is going on with your friend's daughter. I'll pledge $100.
You may want to consider posting this to a crowdfunding website. like gofundme. That gives folks an easy and convenient way to donate.
Thanks for the generous contributions. I have set up a gofundme page. If you want to contribute through that, please do so. If you would prefer to send a contribution via cash or cheque, just PM me. Thanks for the support, Jim www.gofundme.com/help-support-lil039-miss-lily-project-truck
James and I spent the day at Children's Hospital with Lily,Meredith and Jose. They are all beat, but in good spirits. She can finally talk again and gave mom a few jabs when we all thought she was sleeping. Seems she can pick a fight and win and she'll win this one! Wish there was more that I could do...
I know you Dan..you'd do the same to help your best bud. We take everything for granted.....until it affects us in some way/shape or form. Have worked out of my shop for free(basically) for the past 1 1/2 years . Jose and I hang out at least 3 times a week together..so we figured we might as well buy something for ourselves . Jose and I were going to build the truck, now there is a purpose to building this truck. Nothing for me to play in the garage and enjoy myself, compared to what this 10 year old girl is going through. It sure hits home when it's close to home! On a lighter note...progress!! Want it to be a rolling chassis and drive train by mid June! Then onto body,

If the mods don't mind I will keep posting progress on the truck and Lily. It is posted in the lounge...so thinking OK? Put in a new stick and lifters then dropped her back in. Late night as you can tell...
Been bussy at sh"/! Swap meet 2 weeks ago in Van (picked up an Interior for the truck... new in the box!) then the next weekend Camping at childrens Hospital. Cooked them a steak diner and even Lily was chowing down! This weekend..bottle drive and work on the truck. Am home for a bit so will be pounding away! Lily finished her 2nd round of chemo and is doing well, she has 4 more months to go...

Not much time to spend on the site. But the truck is going forward and have a bunch of sponsors! Lily was doing well after her 2nd round of chemo,so Jose made it home for a couple of days. Doesn't look like much accomplished on the truck..but most of the welding is done on all the panels and the inner box is ready for paint. Saving the cab for last. Jose has always loved my 57....so I put him behind the wheel. Maybe life seemed normal for a few minutes...
Bit of an update: Lily has finished her 5th round of chemo and the outlook is good so far. She has 1 more round to go then they can all come home!!!!! It's been about 164 days at Childrens Hospital so far!! Truck is also coming along! She is running and rolling! Now with PS, machined down and re drilled rear axels to 5 0n 5 to match the front. Back onto bodywork next week.

WoW..been a while!! All is good!!! Lily came home just before Christmas after her treatments were done. They have had to make a few trips back to Vancouver for checkups since. Last checkup was in Victoria a week ago. She got the OK to go back to school and no cancer in her tests!!!! So for now and hopefully for the rest of her long life she is cancer free!!! Truck is still a work in progress, but still making progress and working on her most nights. Like my buddy says.....baby steps....
Well thats good news to hear. Never seems fair when children have to go through a challenge like that. Glad youre keeping at it Mr. Duracell man. Thanks for the update Jim.

Yes, instead of being a kid, doing kid things, it seems they have to grow up way too fast.
