Hi bought the car for the purpose of harvesting the driveline (motor/transmission) shutter I know, but have a project (dream) on the back burner for about 14 years now. This particular car was never built with a 396 for that year, but GM did a one off prototype with a 454 to be offered only to law enforcement agencies. If accepted after the rigours of testing etc. would have have gone into limited production mainly as chase cars I'm thinking, USA side only. The 9C1 Caprice Model was the chosen one, but it was shelved for a number of reasons. The car I have is a1987 Caprice 9C1 that I purchased back in 2001 from Salem Oregon, was a slick top not a patrol unit. Drove it for about 6 year till the transmission packed it in, parked the car thinking one day will repair. Somewhere along the way never happen. But the story of the 454 Caprice stuck with me. Many chin wags/coffee etc with fellow gear heads over the year thought probably not going to happen. So when the Pontiac was presented to me thought not a 454 but 396 will do the job, I'll be 75 next birthday, my mind still has all these things I want to do trust me there's a few, but the old body cannot cash the cheques my mind is writing so to speak. My collection of cars are varied, but old law enforcement units have alway had a soft spot in my old heart, especially after the first time I heard Copper Head Road. So with air tools in tow both cars side by each, one on the hoist 9C1 driveline out, wanted to steam clean paint engine compartment first, easier with nothing in Done, Pontiac on hoist, dropped the driveshaft I froze just couldn't do it. Hence for sale, this is a good old Pontiac, strong runner some body repair once over the years and some trunk repair. Frame, floor, body mount etc. solid, chrome, glass, interior really good no rips tears etc. I believe the top is original. Car shows well no bubbles, cracking or even chips in paint. She's not a trailer queen though. That's the story.
But these days that money doesn't buy much of a classic car, especially with a top that goes down, and I quote "Frame, floor, body mount etc. solid, chrome, glass, interior really good no rips tears etc"

It doesn't matter much would it. You could still cruise and be happy no mind any issues. And it's a BB.

Hmmm interesting thoughts/shares so far on the old girl thank you. One can only imagine 3 pedals though, I like the way 4speed427 going with that. Pricing I thought was more then fair for a driver quality BB Poncho Vert especially in todays market. If the car was elminto as a friend of mine would say, easily worth double that and then some. I am still amazed how the 396 hustles her down the road. Thanks again for the comments, nice have fellow Canadian Pontiac enthusiast input.
