Muffler hanger rivets

While we were away on vacation I visited a guy I had previously met when we went to Las Vegas. Those of you who are into Acadians and Novas may know the name John Piccola. He did a lot of reproduction parts over the years for 62-67 Acadian and Nova. One of the many things he had reproduced is the rivets for original GM muffler hangers. Most of you likely don't care two hoots about stuff like this but I enjoy when I can make little details correct.

On the yellow Grande Parisienne I got from Ken, the OEM dual exhaust muffler hangers were there but the rubber on them had already been replaced with non-original rubber pieces (bolted together vs riveted) that are falling apart. Now I hope to find a proper style piece of rubber strapping and "rebuild" the OEM hangers using rivets.

It's exactly this attention to detail that makes your cars so special Carl.

I tend to veer off and just do what makes it functional ,while saying to myself "nobody will ever know"

It great you were able to get some.

They look very familiar to a C2-3 Corvette item. I think they are reproduced by a guy in Pennsylvania, very similar.

Now I need to buy one of the special tools to rivet them. Either that or get my friend to make one on his lathe. It looks similar to this but the stem in the middle of the tip is more of a probe than this one.

Yes he does, he had lots left. Do you just need a couple? I can spare that if you like.
