Cigarette lighter

i have 65 stratochief and have replaced the choke with a cigarette lighter , for chargers and whatnot , I only run it in fair weather so dont mind the warm up time . I ordered up a new one but there is no power supply for it under dash . I havent been able to find one as its a pin style attachment, The oil temp sending unit has a similar style pin but I dont know what this style pigtail is called . Any ideas what I should look for or from where ?, Ive tried the usual suspects and havent had any luck , thanks

Bob

It'll be a 14 gauge red wire. And the connector I think is like a little mini 90 degree (or straight) spark plug wire.

Strato never had a lighter?

If no wire found, you could just feed it from the Battery terminal with a 14 gauge or better wire,

Hi ,
Right now Im running my hidden after market stereo with the spare unswitched terminal , I probably wont use it as a lighter , not these days , phone charge mostly I will tap into that line , Im assuming depending on your carb configuration that was the spot for a lighter but on the super base strato it was the spot for manual choke . Single barrel Rochester , funny I got enough ashtrays for a smokin kitchen party . I am really interested in that connector tho . I dont really relish the thought if a Mickey Mouse type connector wiggling loose under there , anybody parting a 65/66 out , I know its a tiny thing but its peace of mind ,

Thanks
Bob

You learn something every day, the 65 Strato did not come with a lighter! Strange, when even the pope smoked.

I think this might be a lighter connector from some GM. It clicks on a 65 lighter socket pin nicely. The wire looks to be 16 gauge , but it could be 14. Either way, you say you'll not use it for a lighter anyway.

Send me you address and I'll mail it to you.
