Just a thought - - - are you certain that the led bulbs you are using are actually dimmable? Not all 12 volt led bulbs are dimmable.

I wasn't sure till I dimmed and undimmed them a few dozen times, dimmed perfectly in the dash and the console till I messed farther with the courtesy lights.
