Wait, so they don't have any other job than to feed the ammeter. So I can pull them out of the harness entirely and don't actually need the twin locks for the repair. Which I mean ammeters are trouble and I'm going to a voltmeter adding a oil pressure gauge and temp gauge. Putting it in the ashtray opening.

Yes, from what I saw on my car when I removed it and according to the wiring diagram, it's a separate wire from the horn relay to the ammeter and a separate wire from the starter to the ammeter with nothing else connected anywhere.

You are correct!  the chevy trucks of that era are the same way

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH.  The other one has a longer roof.

 Do you unhook yours on the trucks?  On the cars there is no circuit protection at all, thus the fire hazard.

Oh so if I'm deleting this then I don't need anything. I can do my harness check and wrap it up and move on with my life. I'll still come out for a coffee though. I never had a wiring harness for my c10 so this was never an issues I just ran volts. Ez wiring harness was used btw, can recommend.
