59-7519 Headliner

Purchased headliner, windlace, etc from NOS. Fantastic

Bloke to deal with.

Well regarded upholsterer says I must remove windshield

And rear glass. Seems odd to me. Does this make sense?

*Thank You*

Apparently this is something common amongst upholstery shops as this came up on the chevy forum. Looks like it can be done with them in. The second comment has a link to the manual as well.

Remove all your inside trim and see what it looks like and also ask your installer why they need the glass out? Maybe to do the job best/easiest, they need to be able to tighten the roof liner through the glass openings.

A good buddy had his 63 impala SS done by a local very high quality installer, he wanted to do it with the glass out. Different car yes but there might be a logical reason?

Sincere, heartfelt thanks gents.

After reading your comments, my two remaining brain cells

Crashed together and I realized I should look at the '58, '59 sup, '60, '61 sup manuals !Oshawacliff! Brokered for me. Derp!

None of them say to remove windows, but then its written by engineers that never had to do the job..

And then there's this:

Will copy relevant pages and share with upholsterer.

Eternally obliged fellows.
