jonathan, we are not in toronto, nothing in cobourg is more then 5 min.

spent the day cutting brackets and seat mounts off the old seat pans. had to put the seat in to check alignment. kyle gave his seal of approval when he got home from school

You've got that right! I'll be there in late June. Might make the beer tent at Victoria Park on July 1.

I give it a thumbsup.gif too!

Dale at Nos had mentioned about the seat patterns and i thought mine were original. NOT! looks like my front buckets have been replaced. i have a pic from hillars 2+2 for comparison

not a good pic but it does give me something for reference.

problem with using the impala floor is somethings are different. what was significant was the way it tied into the rear of the trunk. mine was also knackered from the previous floor job. i tied it in as best as i could and then made a piece to cover the transition.

If anybody is thinking of using impala floor in their Pontiac B-body. there are little nuances to look for. the middle cross brace under the front seat is only about 1 1/2" thick verses the original which is about 3". had to make a little spacer to take up the slack with the under seat cross brace.

who is that middle age balding guy. i don't recognize him.

i am lining up the seat brackets. i'm using size 14 metal screws to hold everything together then plug welding as i pull them out. i had a 4x4 supported under the body with the chain hoist to compensate for my ballast

The upholstery in Hillar's Green & Gold 2+2 was also redone, and is not 100% correct either.  I will take some photo's of my Gold 2+2 which has original upholstery in very good condition.   (the upholstery in my convertible was also redone in the early 80's, but not correct either).

Keep going! My '70 Convertible got back-burnered last year but it looks like the saving is back on again with a faster pace. I had to get away from the CP forum because it hurt too bad to watch helplessly, but now I'm back. Good work finding that front bumper, and excellent work on all that sheetmetal fabrication. I can't wait to see what develops here.

scored a deal from mark for heavy duty springs front and back plus rear trailing arms with poly bushings. well i don't know about you guys but that usually means i'll end up doing more stuff such as i also replace the lower bushing while i had everything apart.

thanxs to dan (rarechev gonna have to change his user name to rareponcho)for a rear trailing arm bolt, i had to cut one bushing out. i'm thinking everything was original. i'm taking a break to warm up and then i'm back out to the shop to do the front springs and yes i also got new A-arm bushings.

A-arm bushings are in. new to me big block springs are in. a lot of latent energy there i might add. no engine in frame to compress coil so i end up using a heavy duty cargo strap (used on airplanes) with a 3' crow bar for leverage around the frame and lower arm. the princess auto coil spring compressor also did the trick. no pics didn't want any distraction playing with coils

462ci should have plenty of torque to move a B-body along VERY well. That will be a fun ride!
