RE: The 1966 Grande Parisienne epic roadtrip.

A fine looking Master of the Road!

Now, for the 66 Grande`s epic road trip...........you have been advised by CP Nation members to pack just about everything....... except the kitchen sink but what about the Go Pro?

A journey such as this is worthy of a Go Pro and a daily upload to CP TV for regular updates on your epic journey across Canada??  Just a thought............but might be a few travel stories waiting to be experienced and shared in your upcoming adventure!!

Just thinking out out loud........

That is a lot of uploading and time on a long trip. With the hours on the road and the stops along the way....thinking a post of  a pic will be all he has time for.  Been there and done that, Foot on the floor..wind in the eyebrows. If like me..not much hair left!!!!!

Well, with a heavy heart I have to tell everyone that the epic roadtrip is off. The reasons being having become pretty obvious over the last week. It's something I really wanted to do, and I thank everyone for their warm invites, suggestions and words of encouragement, Kevin for being on board, and Jim for all his preparation work.

I was firm in my belief that Covid couldn't get the better of me, but it appears it has done just that.

But overall this issue pales in what others are facing in this ongoing pandemic, and I have zero to complain about. We have our health and are vaccinated. Lets hope we can all get past this safely.

Thanks, Mark

Rats, that sucks....

You had me scared you had Covid as I was reading, it sounded that way. I'm glad you posted that you are healthy and vaccinated.

Bummer though.no

What about waiting 4-6 weeks when (hopefully) things are better?

Bummer! Was so looking forward to hearing about the trip.
Is there any chance that it is only delayed not cancelled?

I was saying to myself that I wouldn't do this trip at this time, even if the circumstances were a little bit better now. There will be a day. I think people are rushing things a bit too much, and I get it (feeling the Covid lock-down drain).

yes this was going to be unbelievable road trip that Mark stepped up to do as there is no way Im getting on a plane. When things get better Im sure i will find another one that needs a pilot. For now the GP will take a ride on a transport to me. I gona make Mark show up when its delivered to the yard so he can have first spinsmile

Sad decision but completely understandable.

We will all see each other soon.

That's how I was feeling about it too.  Sounds more like a this-time-next-year type activity.

Oh well, there will be better times ahead... smile

Ship it here. I can do the 4 speed conversion and whatever else you would like done on it before it continues on east.

I understand completely. I had my mind set on a road trip to Ontario or perhaps further west this year but I think 2021 will be too soon given where we are with the pandemic. But you should keep your plan; hopefully 2022 will provide more opportunity.

Sorry to hear this too, but probably a wise decision at this time. I have grandchildren in Spokane, Washington, and I have no idea when I'll get to see them because of this whole mess. I have 3 or 4 cars to stripe in Alberta, but they're all on hold too until things improve.
On the plus side, I haven't had a cold or the flu in over a year!
