1959 Parisienne Starbursts

The interior of my car has been completely redone at some point and my door panels and seats don't have the starbursts that I see in pictures of the original interiors. I need to get them redone at some point and I was hoping to include them this time around. The only thing is I can't find them. I've never seen them in real life so I'm making some assumptions here. The door panel ones are clearly chrome or chrome plated plastic so someone has got to have them right?  Most likely the same as Bonneville etc. too so I imagine they won't be impossible to find? What I cant tell is the seats. Are they chrome emblems or is it embossed in the seat? I haven't found any pics online that show it clearly enough but it looks to be an emblem of some sort. Or have I been looking for something that doesn't exist?

Thanks for this. I still can't quite make out the seat emblem but it's definitely one of the better pics I've seen. The seat definitely looks embroidered or embossed. Not sure how I'll accomplish that but the doors look doable.

Hey there, David here. This was my car up there.

Happy to answer questions and help.

The door panel "stars" are chrome emblems, same as Bonneville, and you could find good ones in junkyards. I had three or four of them as spares, and I would have gladly just sent them to you, but they went with all my parts when I sold the Parisienne last Fall. The new owner is a member here, he might chime in.

The seat inserts are embossed vinyl, in grey. Definitely harder to reproduce. When I did my seats, the upholsterer was able to salvage the original center inserts from the original factory covers in my seats, and reuse them. So what you see up there on the photos are the original starburst embossed vinyl trim from a 59 Parisienne. That's what you should be looking for.

Again, I had a set of those embossed vinyl inserts (in dark blue), that I had saved from another car, but they went with my parts stash last Fall.

I will try and post an even more clear photo of this.

When I got my seat redone, with everything being brand new material (from SMS), except the embossed vinyl inserts, salvaged from the original seats. SMS could have done the embossing, perfect and identical to original, but VERY pricey, so I was happy to save my original ones.

Awesome, thanks for the info David. That's exactly what I needed to know. I'm sure I can source the door stars. I've bought a couple emblems from a guy in Alberta in the past. I'll bet he's got them, though, I'm a little surprised they don't show up on ebay, etc. Unfortunately for me the interior has all been redone in parchment white naugahide and I fell in love with it so I'm going to have to spring for them to be done new I guess? My kids don't really need to go to college. Do you think SMS would have that pattern on file?
