61-64 Frame Question
(Preview)
A few years back I wrecked a 61 Impala (same frame as Pontiac) 4 door right to the frame. A fellow bought the frame off me and said he was going to turn it into a convertible frame. He told me the only difference was two extra body mounts. Six or eight months later I saw a 61 Impala convertible frame listed on C...

Aftermarket Wheel Question
(Preview)
My 62 Parisienne came with old chrome rims and rotten tires. I'm thinking of getting a set of 14 inch rims and going back to stock hubcaps for a while. The wheels that are on the car now have two flats and they aren't fixable. I can't go to a bigger tire because any more than the 185/75/14 ones that are on it no...

I think I have a new problem on my 64cs. 1. I can turn on my heater blower through all speeds without the key on? 2. My turn signals will light up without the key on. 3. The accessory on the ignition switch does not work, the run and start position are perfect. Any ideas. Brian

What oil in manual steering box (and other steering box questions)?
(Preview)
Hey guys. Sorry for the dumb questions but I don't have any factory manuals or literature on my car and besides, you guys are so quick I figure I'd ask here first. Sooo, what oil/lubricant goes in my manual steering box in my '61? Would 80W90 gear oil like in the manual trans and rear end do the trick? Als...

Front anti-sway bar interchangeability for '61
(Preview)
I'm looking to pick up an inexpensive front anti sway bar for my '61. I don't think my particular car ever came with one from the factory (I assume these were optional extras) but regardless, it does have the 'ears' for one on the front A-arms so I'm wondering short of going aftermarket does anyone know...

'61 StratoChief coils and shocks (where to get?)

New on the forum but not new to big old American (err, Canadian) boats. Anyways, I'm finally about to undertake a slight freshening up of my 4dr StratoChief that I've owned for the last 15 or so years into a family summer camping trip vehicle. Anyways, my problem obviously is that no one lists any parts...

'62 Acadian Beaumont Convertible; need Parking brake black plastic handle
(Preview)
I recently became the 2nd owner of this car. The ONLY part I need to pass the safety inspection is the black plastic (?) handle on the top of the ratchet piece of metal. To put it more clearly, perhaps, if you want to pull on the parking brake, you reach down under the dash and grab the "handle"...
