Has anyone wired an auto dimming mirror with compass and temperature into their 90's, maybe early 2000's vehicle? I put an auto dimming compass mirror into our G8 a few weeks ago and I love it so much I want to get one for our 97 Silverado. However, the G8 and the 97 are totally different styles of mirror, t...

Need Help with Starter and Ignition Wiring
(

(Preview)
I really need some help with wiring my new starter. I am fairly good at figuring out how to do wiring, even with the neither-wholly-Chevy-nor-Pontiac hybrid wiring of our Canadian Pontiacs (specifically my 56) - but this one has me stumped.I went to hook up the wires to my brand new, high-torque mini (...

"Plug and Play" 4 headlamp relay conversion wiring harness on Ebay
(Preview)
The guys on one of the Jeep forums I visit have talked about these plug and play relay conversion wiring harnesses for headlights. The seller sells 2 and 4 lamp versions. The headlamp switches are weak on Cherokees and often fail if higher wattage halogen headlights are used so I'll likely buy the 2 la...

Resurrect a 12 volt battery?

(Preview)
Pretty upset with myself about now. I discovered a little while ago that the last time I worked on my GP electrical, I left the battery hooked up (against my rule in the attached garage/workshop I am in) AND not only that, I forgot the key on. I killed my almost new Delco battery since it is almost a week ago...

I'm relating to the console shifter lights on my 67 2+2. To the left of the selector are the letters PARK R N D L white on black background. I thought light should go through and illuminate the white letters but that doesn't happen. If you see the 2nd photo the background is all solid black. Is it supposed t...

Adjusting Headlights Old School
(Preview)
I got fed up with my old dim headlights (sign of getting old I guess) and swapped in a set of halogen sealed beams. I want to check the adjustment on them. I put in new springs last year so I know they need to come down a bit. Anyhow, there's an old school spec (certain height at a certain distance from a wall)....

With the recent discussion on dash electrical issues, the topic has come up about wiring in relays for headlights (for safety reasons).
