I'm putting a rocker back on the engine and am wondering how much torque I have to tighten it to or do I just tighten it with a regular rachette. Thanks

I have a cast powerglide in behind my 261 and it started to slip at the end of last season so I decided I'm going to swap it out for either a 2004R or 700R4. Ordered the adapter plate from Langdons Stovebolt on Friday. Now I have to decide which tranny to go with. Has anyone done this swap? Any advice out there...

MUNCIE TRANS came with 80/90 GL4 gear lube... If you read articles, in Chevelle forums, some have had troubles with other oils... Over here we're generally advised to use Castrol Classic 20-50, or similar, since modern oils apparently do not suit older engines. I'm due an oil change and thought I'd ask the experts on this venerable site for their opinions. New or old oil technology?
